Occupy Plymouth!

E-mail Print PDF

A new wave of activism is sweeping the world. Inspired by the Occupy Wall Street protest, there are now occupations in more than hundreds of towns and cities around the world, against the worst aspects of capitalism.

In Britain, we have seen huge publicity around the Occupy London Stock Exchange camp outside St Paul's Cathedral. Whilst there has been much media chat about the gyrations of the Church of England hierarchy and how they should deal with the protest, this has not obscured discussion of the real issues raised by the protests. There are also protest camps in Edinburgh, and closer to home, in Bristol.

Occupy Plymouth have met twice in recent weeks, and have decided to occupy Jigsaw Gardens from noon on Saturday 5th November. There will be a general assembly at the camp at 4pm on Saturday afternoon.
