Notice: Plymouth Fightback Against the Cuts public meeting next Tuesday night, 24th January, 7pm at the Transitions Centre, 171 Armada Way (Opposite the Armada Centre, Mayflower Street – knock to enter!).

 We’ve been active all week, including

   A productive Fightback Against the Cuts planning Conference last Saturday organising a series of protests, including outside the Plymouth Guildhall on Thursday 26th January from 5pm, when a Government minister and other “notables” will be at the “live” BBC Question Time that evening – tell them No Cuts, invest in a sustainable future for Plymouth!   A valuable meeting of the Incineration is Wrong group last Tuesday, planning more protest and fund raising to demand a Judicial Review and Public Inquiry – why not come to the Quiz Night at the Ferry Inn, St Budeaux next Sunday, 22nd January from 7pm: www.iiw.org.uk

  A timely meeting last Thursday night on the threat of an attack on Iran, held at the Roland Levinsky Building last Thursday night, agreeing to develop the Plymouth Stop the War Coalition and raise public concern about the threat of a new war – go to www.stopwar.org.u

       More workplace meetings to build for further strike action on the attack to pensions and cuts to the public sector. We are campaigning for a further mass strike day on 1st March, called by the UCU union, to break the Government’s plans. Last November, more than 2 million workers took strike action, with a demo of 2,500 on the streets of Plymouth. We need more of the same.
