Plymouth Herald Article on Plymouth TUC Secretary
Saturday's Herald featured a two page spread on Tony Staunton, our secretary.
The article, by Martin Freeman, tried to concentrate on Tony's life and times, but even so, Tony was able to talk about our fightback against the Con-Dem's attacks on the working class. When was the last time that we had two pages in the local press?
We need to be clear, this isn't just more of the cuts that we have had for the past 30 years - these attacks are the most systematic and concentrated since the 1920s, and are a rolling back of the welfare state that we won after the second world war.
