City Councillor Warns Plymouth Faces A New Recession

THE city risks plunging into a new recession with soaring unemployment and cuts in frontline
services, a Labour councillor has warned. Honicknowle councillor Mark Lowry claimed
the city's economy was in a much more perilous position than had been admitted, and city
workers needed advance warning that thousands of jobs could be at risk so they could
prepare themselves.
